Joseph Mendoza Iniguez

Joseph Mendoza Iniguez, 90, passed away in his home in Kissimmee, FL on May 9, 2023. He was born in 1932 in Chicago, IL and grew up on Racine Ave. & Polk St. He married the late Rosemary Domanico in 1951 and became a butcher to take part in her family business. He owned his own butcher shop in Elk Grove, IL and worked at other family businesses until he retired at age 86. He moved to Florida to be closer to his son.

Joseph traveled with his wife and family to many places including Canada, Las Vegas, Mexico, New Mexico, Texas, and Wisconsin. He was proud of his hometown (Chicago) and his parents’ roots in Michoacán, Mexico. He was always thrilled to speak Spanish long after English became his primary language. He loved to dance and to be near lakes and oceans. He couldn’t leave home without making friends.

It was Joseph’s wish to have a small, closed service at sea. He is survived by his brothers: Tony, Macedonio (Curly), Raymond, and Richard; his son Joseph and his daughter-in-law Hilda; his daughter Diane; and his granddaughters Stephanie and Sarah.
