16-year-old arrested for I-Drive shooting that killed teen, injured two others

Orlando police have arrested a teenaged suspect who they believe is responsible for a shooting on International Drive last month that claimed the life of one 14-year-old boy and injured two others.

Jasper Rollins, 16, has been arrested by the Orlando Police Department and charged with first degree murder with a firearm in connection with the April 29 shooting at Dezerland Park.

On the day of the incident, OPD units were called to the park, which is located at 5250 International Drive, at around 11:43 p.m. in reference to a shooting.

According to OPD, a large group of juveniles was loitering on the property. As the group dispersed and began walking away from the property, a shooter, who has since been identified as Rollins, allegedly fired several rounds into the crowd

Three 14-year-old boys in the crowd suffered gunshot wounds as a result of the shooting. They were transported to the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. One of the victims, Trevon Robinson of Hillsborough County, was in critical condition at the time of transport and eventually died from his injuries.
