Disaster Preparedness tax holiday begins this weekend across Florida

Florida’s annual Disaster Preparedness Tax Holiday will begin this weekend.

The 14-day tax holiday affords Floridians the opportunity to prepare for hurricane season by saving money on prep items.

The tax free list of items includes $20 or less of reusable ice, leashes, collars, and muzzles for pets, as well as pet pads.

The holiday extends through June 10, 2022, and also includes $1,000 or less when spent on a portable generator used to provide light or communications to preserve food in a power outage.

For a complete list of items, visit the Florida Department of Revenue Disaster Preparedness Tax Holiday webpage.
