Barbara Ann Hutsell

Barbara Ann Hutsell passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at the age of 86. She was born on March 19, 1936 in Madison, FL and was the second of four children born to William H. and Eula Pridgeon. The family moved from Madison to Orlando in 1942. She was part of Orlando Boone High School’s second graduating class in June of 1954.

Barbara met her husband, Bill, at Holden Heights Baptist Church where they married in 1955. Together they raised their four children in Orlando. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, avid sports fan and always lived life to the fullest.

Barbara worked as a bank teller for many years before she became a title clerk, a position she held until retiring at the age of 81. She enjoyed every aspect of her career and especially loved the people she worked with along the way.

Barbara loved the Lord with all her heart and never wavered in her faith. She taught Sunday school and many women’s bible study classes, touching countless lives and leading by example. She accepted Christ as her Saviour at the age of nine and never stopped preaching the word of God.

Although her family and friends will deeply miss her wise counsel and continuous prayers, we know she is reaping the rewards of a life well-lived. “Well done my good and faithful servant” echoed on her behalf when she entered the gates of Heaven.

She is predeceased by her husband, Bill Hutsell and her sister, Betty Jean Miller. She is survived by her brothers, Richie and Ronnie Pridgeon, her children Mark (Julia), Marcia (Rick), Robin (Carl), and Keith (Pam), her 12 grandchildren Caitlin, Joel (Lacey), Sam, Brad, Michelle, Derrick (Courtney), Jamie (Courtney), Kevin, Kasey, Cody, Lauren, and Abby. She was also blessed by 13 great-grandchildren Dolly, Peyton, Ansley, Caroline, Isaiah, JJ, Jordan, Janie, Jolie, Logan, Morgan, Hailey, and Kasen.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 4th, 10am at Discovery Church located at 881 Sand Lake Road, Orlando, FL 32809. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Graveside Burial Services will be held privately at the family’s convenience.
