John Edward Franklin

John Edward Franklin was born to Johnnie and Katherine Franklin on September 04, 1947. Raised in Kansas City, Mo, he was a graduate of Southwest High School and Central Missouri State University where he earned a Bachelors degree and MBA. He worked various jobs while attending college but found his niche in the Insurance industry, working at both State Farm and Allstate before making the move to Florida in 1996 becoming an Independent Claims Adjuster. He enjoyed playing golf, restoring corvettes (although in younger years he would race fast cars), and being dressed to the nines. John loved some of his Kansas City favorites, a “Mixed Plate” from Gates BBQ and sharing Lamar’s donuts with his grandkids, and a good steak. In his younger years he was known as a good shot on the pool table and his impressive collection of albums on wax. Everyone knew John by his signature laugh; it was infectious and one of a kind.
John passed on May 25th 2022. He is survived by his three children, John Charles Edward Franklin, Jason Edward (Lisa) Franklin, and Kirbee Anais Franklin from his marriage with Deborah Franklin (preceding him in death). He is also survived by his longtime partner, Barbara Hurn, and his grandchildren, Chiarra Kianni Franklin, Jason Anthony Franklin, and Johnny Ernesto Reyes II.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Osceola Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Kissimmee with a memorial gathering prior to the service from 6:00 pm to 7:00 PM.
