We are sad to announce the death of Joyce Elizabeth Meredith MacDonald of Orlando, Florida. She was born May 19, 1931 in Holland, Michigan and passed away at the age of 91 on May 25, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by her three daughters, their husbands, eight grand-children, twelve great grand-children and her two brothers and their wives: Diane and Jay Knight: Carrie and Bo Carrington (Ed, Henry, Pasty, Margaret June) Jennifer and Bennett Holcomb (Harvey, Bosco, Wells, Boden) Bo and Becca Butler (Willa, Prynn, Ox) Cole Butler Tamela and Stewart Mathews: Meredith Fusilier (Kyle Fusilier), Zachary Mathews Jane and Glenn Miller: Mark Miller, Brian and Olivia Miller Clyde and Jane Meredith II Philip and Pat Meredith
She is preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Carrie Meredith, her siblings June Ross, Robert Meredith and Esther Bekaert.
Joyce’s love of family and children always shined through. Her teacher’s heart was evident to the very end. In addition to teaching more than 30 years, she earned her Masters Degree in Administration of Education from Rollins College to enhance her ability to pursue being the best teacher she could be. Her greatest desire was that all her family would come to know, love, trust and follow Jesus. We will miss walking in to find her singing along and enjoying her “Gaither Music”. She was very loved and will be greatly missed. If you would like to pay your respects, you are welcome to attend the visitation at 12:00 pm and Celebration of Life service at 1:00 pm. The service will be held at First Baptist Church Orlando 3000 South John Young Parkway Orlando, FL 32805 in the Henry Chapel on June 2, 2022.
