Dorothy Gardenia Jeffries

Dorothy Gardenia Antle Jeffries of Zellwood, Florida passed into the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ at age 84 on May 28, 2022. She was born June 20, 1937 in Taylor County, Kentucky to the late Harvey Edgar Antle and Lida Judy Penick Antle. She graduated from Greensburg High School in Greensburg, Kentucky in 1955 and attended Campbellsville College and Valencia Community College. She was a retired teacher and school administrator, and a member and Sunday School teacher at the Church at The Cross in Orlando, Florida.

She began her career in education in 1970 as a kindergarten teacher at South Side Baptist Church in Covington, Kentucky. After moving to Orlando, Florida in 1971, she taught kindergarten for two years at Patton’s Kindergarten in Pine Hills, and in 1973 was hired to help establish the kindergarten program at the First Baptist Church of Pine Hills. That ministry has grown into the Central Florida Christian Academy.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Phyllis Allen Antle Milby. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Elwood “Red” Jeffries, son Mark Jeffries and daughter-in-law Kim Jeffries, daughter Julie Jeffries LeMaster and son-in-law Jeff LeMaster.

Other survivors include seven grandchildren — Justin Jeffries and wife Ariel; Drew Jeffries; Carrie Anne Jeffries; Dorrie LeMaster; Jeffrey LeMaster; Kaylee LeMaster; and Jordan LeMaster – and many friends and loved ones.

Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, June 4th at Church At The Cross, 700 Good Homes Road in Ocoee,FL. Visitation at 10:00AM and service at 11:00AM.
