Mother of child who ingested cocaine, fentanyl, arrested for manslaughter

The mother of a 5-year-old child who died after ingesting cocaine and fentanyl has been arrested for aggravated manslaughter a year after the boy’s death.

On Tuesday, August 22, Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Glendalis Godreau Torres in connection with the death of her son, Hector Pantojas, who was found unresponsive on August 11, 2022.

After he was found unresponsive, Pantojas was rushed to a local hospital, where he died. A toxicology report showed that Pantojas had cocaine and fentanyl in his system at the time of his death.

During their investigation over the past year, authorities determined that Torres had been selling drugs out of her home. They attributed Pantojas’ death to being in a home where the drugs that were found in his system were readily available.

Torres was arrested and transported to the Orange County Jail on Tuesday. No additional information has been released regarding her next scheduled court date.

Pantojas was a student at the Conway Learning Center of Orlando. According to a GoFundMe established last year by the school, he was a “ray of sunshine” and loved “playing with cars” and singing the “songs he learned in chapel.”
