Second pedestrian killed while crossing I-4 in last week

Another pedestrian was struck and killed while crossing I-4 last night, marking the second such incident since last week.

The fatal accident took place near mile marker 67 on Interstate 4, just before 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 52-year-old Saint Cloud man was driving a 2014 Freightliner Semi-Truck hauling two trailers westbound on I-4.

For unknown reasons, a 62-year-old Orlando man was walking eastbound on I-4, across the lanes at mile marker 67.

The pedestrian walked into the direct path of the semi-truck and as struck head-on. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The incident is one of two pedestrian fatalities within a few miles of each other on the highway over the past few days.

On Sept. 22, a 36-year-old man who was attempting to cross I-4 was struck and killed by a Honda.
