Deltona student allegedly caught vaping THC, fentanyl in bathroom

A 15-year-old student at Deltona High School was arrested after he was caught in a school bathroom using a vape pen that tested positive for THC and fentanyl.

Volusia County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the high school, which is located at 100 Wolf Pack Run, on Wednesday, October 4.

According to the authorities, a student at the high school was caught vaping in one of the bathrooms at the high school and ran off campus.

The vape pen that the student left behind later tested positive for THC and fentanyl.

Deputies found the student at his home a short time thereafter. The student was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of fentanyl, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The incident happened just a day after police put DeLand Middle School under knockdown due to a threat that was deemed unfounded.

Last week, DeLand Police Department officers locked down DeLand High School under similar conditions.

In September, a student at DeLand Middle School was arrested after he was found in possession of a firearm.
