Roaches lead to closure of restaurant on Cranes Roost

A popular restaurant at Cranes Roost was temporarily closed last week after dozens of living and dead roaches were found during a health inspection.

Cafe Murano was temporarily closed on Tuesday, October 24 after the restaurant was cited for 11 health code violations by an inspector representing the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

The restaurant, which is located at 309 Cranes Roost Boulevard in Altamonte Springs, was cited for at least two high-priority violations, including the presence of roaches.

In total, the inspector found 10 live roaches at the bar, as well as a couple more in a sticky trap under a table.

Additionally, about 24 dead roaches were found on the expo line, in stick traps behind the beer cooler, and in sticky traps under the bar counter.

The restaurant was reinspected on Wednesday, October 25, and was permitted to reopen after only six basic violations were found.
