Martha E. Hanson

Marti Hanson (78). Martha E. Hanson of Winter Park, FL passed away with her husband Jim at her side on May 28 at Advent Health Orlando after a short stay in hospital hospice care. Marti left us in body due to her ongoing blood disorder that turned into active leukemia. It was a short progression, and we are all devastated.
Marti is still pure joy, radiant, exquisite, luminous, authentic, humble, stylish, appreciative, smiling, and loving to all. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jim; her two Lil-Mom children, son Chris Hanson and his wife Tracey of Denver, CO and daughter Dr. Heather Palmer of Chattanooga, TN; and Marti’s brother John of Orlando, FL., along with so many friends and family.
Marti and Jim enjoyed traveling the world, walking in their beautiful neighborhood, having a quiet dinner together with their favorite wines. As best friends, they talked about everything together and never tired of each other’s company. As Marti would often say, “We are two ones.”
Martha (Marti) was born in Cumberland, MD in 1943 and later moved with her family to Mt. Dora, FL in the mid-1950s, where she attended school. In her early 20s, Marti joined National Airlines as a flight attendant and supervisor. Marti’s second career began in 1984, when she formed her own medical/wellness, sales-distribution company Body Comp, which she developed into Hanson Medical Systems, Inc., along with her husband, Jim. Hanson Medical Systems, Inc. grew to be one of the largest female owned businesses in Central Florida.
Marti was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Advent Crosby Wellness Center and the Winter Park Racquet Club. Marti adored the town of Winter Park.
Marti and Jim were never apart and loved to spend time with each other talking, exercising, and traveling. Marti’s favorite words to Jim are: “Loving you forever is not long enough,” and “I hold your heart in my heart.”

There will be a “Celebration of Life for Marti” on June 11that 1:00 at the Winter Park Racquet Club in Winter Park, FL.
