A local food court was temporarily closed after roaches were found on a pizza station during a recent health inspection.
Bakewell Foodcourt was temporarily forced to close its location at 6427 Old Winter Garden Road, Unit 103, in Orlando, on Friday, December 8, after failing a health inspection conducted by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
According to the inspector’s report, at least 17 health code violations were cited during the visit, including three considered “high priority.”
Among the high priority violations was the presence of roach activity, as evidenced by six live roaches that were found at a pizza station. The report indicates that the operator removed the equipment from the station and cleaned the area.
In addition to the roaches, the report indicates that raw eggs and raw fish were being stored over unwashed, raw vegetables. Additionally, the business was cited for storing stain cleaner next to a microwave in the donut area.
The business was reinspected on Monday, December 11. The reinspection report shows that it was cited for four violations and “met inspection standards.”
