15-year-old arrested, teen victim ID’d in fatal Orlando stabbing

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with a stabbing incident in Orlando that left one teenager dead and another critically wounded on Friday night.

At around 11 p.m. on Friday, March 15, deputies responded to a physical altercation that had occurred near the Amscot located at 770 S Goldenrod Road, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

When deputies arrived at the incident location, they found two 16-year-old girls who had been stabbed. Both teens were rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.

One of the victims, later identified as Kennedy Williams, died from her injuries. The second victim’s name has not been released.

A homicide investigation was launched, and the sheriff’s office stated in a media release on Saturday afternoon that Anthony Rushing, 15, has been identified as the prime suspect in this case.

After being placed under arrest, Rushing was charged with one count of second-degree murder.

“There are no outstanding suspects,” stated OCSO. The sheriff’s office added that the homicide investigation remains active.
