Missing 12-year-old last seen in Windermere

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to locate a missing 12-year-old girl who was last seen in Windermere early Thursday morning.

At around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 21, Yaxielys García De Jesús was spotted on camera leaving her family’s apartment located in the area off Reams Road and Buena Place. Her family reported her missing a few hours later, according to the sheriff’s office.

“Because of her age, we are concerned for her safety,” stated the sheriff’s office in a media release.

Yaxielys stands 5’3” tall, weighs 160 pounds, and has brown eyes and brown hair. When she was last seen, she was wearing a short black dress and sandals.
