Orlando multi-time felon accused of possessing revolver, ammo

A 46-year-old Orlando man with multiple prior felony convictions was indicted this week for allegedly possessing a revolver and ammunition.

On Monday, March 25, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida announced the return of an indictment charging Darryl James London with possessing a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon.

In addition, the indictment also notifies London that the United States intends to forfeit the seized firearm, ammunition, and any assets which are alleged to be traceable to proceeds of the offense.

According to the indictment, London was convicted of seven felony offenses between 2001 and 2022. As a convicted felon, London is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition under federal law.

On November 14, 2023, the indictment alleges that London was caught with a Charter Arms revolver and ammunition in his possession.

An indictment is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed one or more violations of federal criminal law. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty.

If convicted, London faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in federal prison.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, with additional assistance from the Orlando Police Department. It will be prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard Varadan.
