Winter Park officials asking for input on renovations to Castle Park

The City of Winter Park will host a public meeting to discuss necessary upgrades to the city’s Castle Park.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 19, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Winter Park Community Center, which is located at 721 W. New England Avenue.

Known as Castle Park, the 35-year-old playground is located on the northeast corner of Martin Luther King, Jr. Park. The playground was planned and constructed using donated materials and equipment by hundreds of volunteers in 1987.

Over time, the playground has experienced years of wear and tear and is need of upgrades in order to meet today’s playground safety standards.

“For the last three decades, this playground has served as a fort, castle, and imagination zone to thousands of children,” reads a press release from the city of Winter Park.

For more information on the renovation, contact 407-599-3357.
