Orlando Meats closes as chefs leave for self-owned noodle popup shop

Orlando Meats closed its restaurant earlier this month after its former chefs left to manage their own noodle popup shop.

Chefs Eliot Hillis and Seth Parker made the announcement in late July and have since served up a slate of signature dishes across multiple popup events under their new moniker, Red Panda Noodle.

The shop specializes in Biang Biang noodles, a style that originated in China’s Shaanxi Province and that has gained popularity across the United States.

Additionally, the chefs prepare a variety of noodle-dishes including lo mein, leng mian, and bibim naengmyeon, which is a spicy, cold noodle.

The business has hosted popups at multiple locations in the area over the past few weeks, including stops at The Guesthouse, Ivanhoe Park Brewing, and Redlight Redlight, among others.

To find out more about the chefs, their menu, or their upcoming popup events, or to schedule the business for a future catering, visit the Red Panda Noodle website.

Red Panda joins several others restaurants in Orlando that have either opened recently or are nearing completion, including another Shaanxi-style noodle restaurant. That shop, Bang Bang Noodle Co., is the creation of Top Chef winner Hung Huynh and is currently under construction on Colonial Drive.
