Minor injuries after ‘scary’ rollover crash in Winter Park

Winter Park emergency officials reported only minor injuries after a “scary” accident last night saw a car roll over near pedestrians.

Crews from the Winter Park Fire Rescue Department were called on Monday evening in reference to a roll over crash with entrapment along Howell Branch Road.

Upon arrival, firefighters surveyed the scene and found a vehicle had been flipped on its side after a collision with another vehicle.

Crews worked to stabilize the vehicles and freed the occupants that had become trapped.

Officials say that a group of good samaritans responded to the incident to offer assistance.

“Good samaritans and first responders should always keep scene safety as a priority when rendering aid,” reads a social media post from the WPFD.

“If you encounter a roll over crash, call 911, identify where you are, and relay any obvious hazards” says WPFD. “Be careful not to place yourself in harm’s way in your effort to help others.”
