Friends, family and detectives are still looking for those responsible for taking the life of a 22-year-old Union Park woman last year.
Alyzah Cruz, who was shot to death last year, was found unresponsive on the morning of August 23, 2021 at her home on Flowers Pointe Lane in Union Park.
Orange County Sheriff’s Office detectives are still asking the public for any information that may help lead them to Cruz’s killer(s).
If you have any information that can help police solve this murder, please contact the Central Florida Crimeline at 800-423-8477. Tips may be submitted anonymously and may be eligible for a $5,000 reward.
Friends and family continue to mourn the loss of Cruz, who was killed just five and a half weeks before her 23rd birthday. She would have turned 24 at the end of this month.
“Today is definitely a heavy day, since we lost our cousin Alyzah Cruz a year ago,” reads a post from one of Cruz’s cousins. “Not only has it been a year of this, but also the person who took her life has been out and has not paid for what they have done. We need to get justice for Alyzah.”
Cruz’s mother, Mel, has organized a GoFundMe to help create additional reward money for any tips and information.
“We as a family have been praying for justice every day since this tragedy changed all our lives. We are asking for help to raise funds for reward money to go to someone who has information that will lead to the arrest of the individual or individuals responsible,” reads the GoFundMe.
