Vehicle fire on I-4 is fourth extinguished by fire crews this month

Seminole County Fire Department crews extinguished another vehicle fire over the weekend, marking at least the fourth-such incident locally this month.

According to SCFD, on Sunday, September 11, a vehicle fire broke out along Interstate 4 eastbound, near the rest area in Lake Mary around mile marker 96.

A SCFD engine and tower responded to the scene to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The vehicle fire follows a collection of similar incidents that have taken place all around Orange and Seminole County over the past several weeks.

Last Thursday, crews responded to a vehicle fire in Altamonte Springs.

Earlier last week, a separate vehicle became engulfed in flames while traveling along Red Bug Lake Road.

On Labor Day weekend, a separate car caught fire while driving along I-4 near Universal Studios.

At the beginning of the month, fire crews responded to a vehicle fire that ignited on Horatio Avenue in Maitland.
