El Vic’s Kitchen closes Indian restaurant in College Park

A popular Indian restaurant in College Park was forced to close its doors after it was not allowed to renew its lease.

Formerly located at 2445 Edgewater Drive, El Vic’s Kitchen closed its doors earlier this month after two years in business. According to the company’s social media profiles, the business was kicked out of its home in College Park by the landlord.

“I am sorry guys, we have been forced out of there,” reads a post from the company’s Instagram.

Known for its Indian cuisine, the restaurant was a highly rated, popular spot among locals. Its menu featured a bevy of classic Indian dishes, including proteins prepared in Saag, Korma, Masala, and curry varieties, among others.

Owner/operator Sheetal Thakur hopes to relocate the business and says she will update followers through social media.

“We will be looking for a new space…Thank you for the support,” reads the post.

El Vic’s Kitchen joins a collection of other restaurants in Orlando that have closed in recent weeks, including nearby Thai Farm Kitchen, which officially closed its doors on September 10.
