36-year-old bicyclist killed, police looking for truck that fled scene

Police are asking the public for help to find a truck that fled the scene of a fatal hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a 36-year-old Kissimmee man.

The Florida Highway Patrol is currently looking for a newer model (i.e., 2017+), white, Ford F-250 that may have been involved in the accident.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a bicyclist was traveling eastbound on U.S. Hwy 192 on Monday, September 19, at around 6:05 a.m. in the marked bicycle lane. For unknown reasons, the truck entered the bicycle lane and struck the bicyclist from behind.

The bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene and the vehicle fled after the collision.

Authorities are asking any mechanics or auto body shops that may have replaced or repaired a front right headlight matching the above vehicle description to contact the FHP at 407-737-2213, or the Central Florida Crimeline at 800-423-8477.
