Iris Hernandez

On December 12, 1953, Iris Hernandez was born to Luis Angel Hernandez and Iris Valencia Hernandez in Bronx, NY. She was their first daughter and one of seven children to be born to the couple.

Iris worked for IBM, State Farm Insurance and finally as an administrator for the Rochester City School District.

For many years, Iris lived and provided companionship and care for her mother after her father’s death. She later relocated to Orlando, FL to live with her sister Nancy. Iris enjoyed reading her bible, watching old movies, shopping, and going out to restaurants. She was at her happiest when she got visits from family.

On Saturday, September 24, 2022, Iris went home to be with the Lord.

Her family and friends will remember Iris for her giving heart and her passion for always pointing as many people as she could to Christ.

She leaves behind six siblings Luis (Betsy), Abraham (Diana), Frankie (Neraida), Nancy (George), Jimmy (Ramonita) and Gladys (Isaac). As well as many nieces and nephews Abie, Mari, Chrissy, Michie, Missy, Deedee, Danielito, Lisa, Jacqui, Sammy, Derek, Emmanuel, Frankie Jr, Jovani, Gaby and Ivana and many other extended family she “adopted” as nieces and nephews all who affectionately called her “Titi Bity”.
