Orlando International Airport resumes flights

The Orlando International Airport has resumed normal operations after a multi-day closure due to Hurricane Ian.

According to airport officials, the airport resumed passenger flights on Friday, September 30, at 12 p.m., after two days of closures due to Hurricane Ian.

“This decision was made after a thorough investigation of any property damage and a careful consideration for the safety and security of the traveling public and airport employees,” reads a statement from the airport.

All roads leading into the airport, as well as all parking facilities, will be reopened as of Friday.

The airport’s Emergency Operations Center will continue a 24-hour rotation to monitor airport activities.

Airport officials say that a number of airlines are adjusting their schedules, so travelers are advised to contact airline and rental car companies directly for the status of individual flights and cars.
