Altamonte Springs police looking for vehicle in fatal hit and run

The Altamonte Springs Police Department is asking the public for help to identify and locate a vehicle that struck a pedestrian and fled the scene.

The fatal accident took place on September 26 at 1:45 a.m., near the intersection of East Altamonte Drive and Anchor Road, according to ASPD.

Upon arrival, units discovered a severely injured male on the sidewalk. That man has not been identified.

Authorities believe the man was possibly walking across State Road 436 when he was struck by a white vehicle traveling eastbound on SR 436.

The crash is believed to have occurred between 12 a.m. and 1:45 a.m., although the exact time of the crash is unknown.

Investigators believe the victim possibly stepped out into traffic and was struck by a white, 2016 to 2020 Kia Optima. That vehicle might have damage to the passenger side mirror and the front, passenger side headlight.
