City soliciting proposals for Lake Eola Amphitheater upgrades

Downtown Orlando’s most distinct landmark will soon receive a series of upgrades.

The City of Orlando’s Procurement and Contracts Division is currently accepting bids from companies interested in equipping the Lake Eola Amphitheater with new equipment.

According to records, the city is looking to remove the current audio equipment at the amphitheater, which is located at 101 North Rosalind Avenue, and replace it with a new, Audio-Visual System (AVS). The project would also include new lighting design, installation, and quarterly preventive maintenance at the site.

The Lake Eola Amphitheater has been home to dozens of plays and shows performed by local, national, and international troops for many years. Although the amphitheater was shut down briefly during the pandemic, in May, shows started up again.

Also known as the Bandshell, the amphitheater has been a staple of Lake Eola Park since its construction in 1886. The structure was originally built on the south side of the lake and has since been torn down and reconstructed on the west side of Lake Eola.

According to the city records, proposals for the current project should include diagrams or drawings of the new equipment with a detailed list of all replacement equipment.

All questions must be submitted in writing no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, January 31.

All requests must be submitted electronically to the city by Thursday, February 10 at 2:00 p.m.
