Evelyn Davis

passed away suddenly on August 3rd, 2022. Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised on Long Island. She went to Syracuse University for 2 years until she married and started her family.

She had 2 sons and a daughter. After she divorced, Evelyn and the kids moved to Orlando where she worked full time as a bookkeeper. Evelyn married her second husband. She also went back to night school and graduated from Rollins College with a BA, while caring for her children. After second husband passed, Evelyn then settled down for 21 years with her significant other, whom she called the love of her life.

Evelyn moved to Hawaii in 2008 to be near her grandkids, son in law and daughter. We loved her very much and were so grateful to have her nearby. She became active at Temple Emanu-El by being part of the sisterhood, ran the Seniors Program for many years and was also on the Board. She always gave her all and made many friends along the way. You always knew where you stood with her, she had a sharp wit and was welcoming to all she met. She loved working out at 24 hour Fitness and baking and cooking for friends and family. She spent her last few months at Pohai Nani ALF and was able to live in her own apartment.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her sons Richard and David Buff and her SO, Wayne Deubel. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Liz (JC) Buff Kinsler and her two grandkids, Joe and Jessie Kinsler. She loved her family so much. Other family members are Susan (Lon) Strombeck, Mickey (Berta) Deubel and Margaret Davis.
