Driver dies in fiery crash on SR 429

A driver, who has not yet been identified by authorities, was killed when their vehicle left State Road 429, crashed, and burst into flames.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal accident took place on Saturday, October 22, at 6:35 a.m. near mile marker 22 on SR 429.

The driver was traveling northbound in a Ford F-150 when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway, struck the guardrail, and caught fire.

The vehicle became consumed by fire and the only occupant of the vehicle, the driver, died as a result.

The off-ramp to the Florida Turnpike from SR 429 was closed during the investigation.

Authorities are still working to identify the driver, according to FHP.
