Louis H. Repassy


Louis Repassy was born on May 7, 1933 in Newark, NJ. He is the son of Louis and Rose Repassy. He was raised with his only sister, Clarice, in Astoria and Patchogue, New York.

He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at McChord Air Force Base in Tacoma, Washington. He was assigned to the 325th Field Maintenance Squadron and served in the Korean War.

Before his passing, Lou was proud to learn his granddaughter, Alexis Newlin, became a reservist in the Air Force. Her duty station is also McChord Air Force Base.

In 1956, Lou began his IBM career at the Wall Street, NY office. In 1960, a new office opened in Church Street. He was the first customer engineer to become a senior engineer. He was soon promoted to field manager working at IBM headquarters in Franklin Lake, NJ. In 1973, Lou accepted a field manager position in Orlando, FL. The last 7 years of his career was in the Sales and Marketing division for IBM.

He was a proud member of the Quarter Century Club in recognition and appreciation for 25 years of service with IBM. He went on the complete a 40-year career. Following his IBM career, he was a contractor at AT&T for two years.

Lous was married to his wife Martha for 55 years. They have 3 children: Rosemary, Judy and Lou.

He and Martha were active parishioners at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Orlando, FL. Martha passed away in 2015, and Lou continued as an active member. He was an usher for the church and became a consultant for St. Killians candle burning system. Lou brought the candle burning technology to St. John Vianney as a way to honor loved ones and generate revenue using a flameless candle system.

Lou and Martha enjoyed traveling to visit family in New York and New Jersey as well as their tropical get-away in Cancun, Mexico. Some of their trips took them to Hong Kong, Italy, California, Washington state, Canada and cruising the Caribbeans. They were active and attended their grandchildren’s sports and extra-circular activities.

Lou’s hobbies included assembling N-gauge train sets, fishing and DIY projects at the family’s home.

He is survived by his children Rosemary and Michael Saunders, Judy Newlin, Lou and Christina Repassy; His grandchildren are Lauren Alspaugh; Ryan Saunders; Adrienne Jefferies; Chad Cheek; Elizabeth Repassy, and Alexis Newlin. He has three great grandchildren: Olivia, Makayla, and Parker.

Lou’s strong faith in God and love for Christ provides his family comfort. He is now sharing the joys of eternal life in heaven with our Lord. and Savior. He is now enjoying a glorious home in heaven and is free of all sickness and death.

“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies that they will be like his glorious body.” Philippians 3:20-21
