One pedestrian was killed and another was critically injured after they were struck by a vehicle being driven by an 80-year-old Orlando woman on Colonial Drive.
The fatal accident took place in the eastbound lanes of W Colonial Drive, just east of N Pine Hills Road on Friday, November 4, at approximately 7:26 p.m.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the 80-year-old Orlando woman was driving a 2023 Hyundai Elantra on W Colonial Drive when she struck two pedestrians who entered the roadway in the direct path of the vehicle while not in a crosswalk.
Both of the pedestrians were transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center. One of them was pronounced deceased at the hospital, while the other is in critical, but stable, condition.
The woman was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Traffic homicide investigators are working on confirming the identity of the driver and two pedestrians.
