FHP looking for witnesses who saw fatal accident on SR 429

The Florida Highway Patrol is asking anyone who may have witnessed a fatal accident on State Road 429 late last month to come forward with information.

Law enforcement authorities are currently investigating a fatal crash that took place on Thursday, October 27 and claimed the life of a 27-year-old Winter Garden man.

According to FHP detectives, the man, who was not identified by police, was killed after he lost control of his 2009 Mazda Tribute on State Road 429, causing him to be partially ejected.

The incident took place near mile marker 21 on SR 429 at around 3:12 p.m.

Authorities say the man overcorrected to the right and began traveling across the southbound lanes before leaving the roadway, striking a guardrail, and overturning.

As the vehicle overturned, the driver was partially ejected. He was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Any witnesses to the crash are asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol at *347 (*FHP).
