Joanne C. Whittemore

Joanne C. Whittemore, 91, of Mt. Dora, died November 3, 2022.
Joanne was born on June 13, 1931 in Island Falls, Maine. She grew up during the depression and World War II. She was the Valedictorian of her class. She met her husband, Donald at the University of Maine. They moved to California when he joined the Navy during the Korean War. They moved back to Maine after the war and later to Connecticut where they raised five children. She eventually went back and finished her degree. She went on to work in accounting for Casual Corner. After raising their children and retiring, they purchased an RV and travelled around the country until 1992 when they settled in Leesburg, Florida. She had various other positions when they settled in Florida and they both loved Disney and spending time with their children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Donald Whittemore and daughter, Deby Browning.

Left to cherish her memory are her four children: Stephen (Diane) Whittemore, James Whittemore, Michael (Debbie) Whittemore, and Donald (Leslie) Whittemore; son in law; Paul Browning; twelve grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
