George E. Hodges

Rev. George E. Hodges age 85, of Sanford, Florida, passed away November 18, 2022. He was born November 23, 1936 in Hilliard, Florida, the son of the late George Earl and Maude (Blount) Hodges.

He was a faithful pastor, missionary, and evangelist. In later years, he encouraged young pastors in the ministry. As a devoted husband, father, and grandfather he enjoyed his family being near. Most of all he loved and served the Lord Jesus Christ. He said, from Psalm 119:65, “Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O LORD, according to thy word.” Rev. Hodges was predeceased by five brothers, and two sisters.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years Carol Ward Hodges, three children Denise Rodriguez, Cheryl (Jim) Stephens, and Ward (Amy) Hodges. Rev. Hodges is also survived by seven grandchildren Amy Candelario, DeAnna Munoz, Jared Stephens, Luke Stephens, Leah Stephens, Ethan Hodges, Juliet Hodges, and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Palm Springs Drive Baptist Church located at 601 Palm Springs Drive Altamonte Springs, FL 32701.

Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Park Cemetery located at 4991 County Road 46A, Lake Mary, FL 32746.
