21-year-old stabs mother to death, says she never pushed him to ‘be a man’

A 21-year-old Kissimmee man who was arrested this week after stabbing his mother to death and injuring his sister said he would “do it again” because his mother never pushed him to “be a man.”

Osceola County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called on Tuesday, November 29, at approximately 4:13 p.m. in reference to a possible stabbing at a residence in Kissimmee.

Upon arrival, deputies determined that one female had been stabbed to death, and another female had severe lacerations to her hands.

During their investigation, police identified Matthew Stewart Sisley as the son of the deceased woman and the lead suspect in the case. Sisley was located a short distance away from the incident and was taken into custody.

Detectives interviewed Sisley regarding the incident and he confessed to intentionally stabbing his mother and accidentally stabbing his sister.

While questioning Sisley, he stated that he believed his mother deserved to get stabbed. When asked why, Sisley responded “because she never pushed me to be a man.” Detectives asked Sisley if he regretted killing his mother and he indicated that he did not and would “do it again.”

Sisley was booked into the Osceola County Jail for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, with additional charges forthcoming. Police say the incident was isolated.

Anyone with information pertaining to this case is asked to contact the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office at 407-348-2222.
