59-year-old woman killed while crossing Goldenrod Road

A 59-year-old pedestrian was killed after she was struck by a vehicle while she was attempting to cross Goldenrod Road on Monday morning.

The fatal accident took place near the intersection of Goldenrod Road and Toledo Street around 6:10 a.m. on Monday, December 5.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, a 41-year-old Orlando man was driving a Ford Explorer northbound on Goldenrod Road when the vehicle struck the pedestrian as she was crossing the roadway.

The woman was transported to AdventHealth East Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Ford remained on scene and cooperated with police after the incident.
