Florida Highwaymen hosting meet and greet at library

The Florida Highwaymen will host a meet and greet at the Orange County Regional History Center this weekend.

The event will take place on Saturday, December 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the center, which is located at 65 E Central Boulevard in downtown Orlando.

The Florida Highwaymen is a group of 26 African American artists that started up in the segregated South of the 1950s. During the event, visitors will have a chance to ask questions and purchase their artwork, which captures Floridian landscapes.

First and second generation artists from the group will be in attendance, including Curtis Arnett, Al Black, Robert Lewis Jr., Kay Idlette, Roy McLendon, Jr., and Robert Lewis III.
