The MICHELIN Guide has named eight additional Orlando area restaurants to its growing list of must-try eateries in Central Florida.
On Monday, April 3, the group announced the additions of multiple restaurants across Orlando and Tampa to its coveted 2023 MICHELIN Guide for Florida.
Last year, four restaurants were awarded Michelin stars for the first time in Sunshine State history, and seven others were recognized with Bib Gourmand awards.
The restaurants range in cuisine from Korean to Spanish, and are located all throughout the city, including Toledo, which is on the 16th floor of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, and Victoria & Albert’s, which is located at the Grand Floridian Resort.
The new list also features multiple restaurants that have celebrated their grand openings in the past six months.
That includes Kaya, which celebrated the grand opening of its Filipino fine dining restaurant in January. The restaurant is located in the Mills 50 district and serves traditional, Filipino dishes with a modern twist.
It also includes Juju, which opened at 700 Maguire Boulevard last July. Owned by the same group that runs Susuru, the restaurant offers Japanese snacks, soups, and fried, grilled and dry-aged sashimi courses.
Close by, Otto’s High Dive opened its doors in December and bills itself as a neighborhood rum bar, serving craft cocktails and seafood dishes, among other specialities. The business is located at 2304 E Robinson Street, just a couple doors down from Stasio’s, which recently was named as one of the top restaurants on Yelp’s Top 100 Restaurants in Florida.
Edoboy, the first standing sushi bar in the area, opened its doors in July as well. The 8-person standing sushi bar is the creation of Sean “Sonny” Nguyen, whose Domu & Tori Tori locations have been well received by the community. Last year, Domu was named as one of the several Bib Gourmand recipients in the area.
Rounding out the list of this year’s restaurants are Twenty Pho Hour, which is located at 11951 International Drive, and Doshi, which is located at 1040 N Orlando Avenue.
MICHELIN has not yet announced the designation for any of the restaurants, but will do so during a ceremony next month. Each restaurant will either be awarded one to three Michelin stars, or will be designated as a Bib Gourmand recipient, which recognizes quality and value.
Papa Llama, which temporarily closed its doors in early April, will reopen on June 28 and is currently hiring. The restaurant opened a little over a year and a half ago at 2840 Curry Ford Road and serves up Peruvian dishes.
