Osceola opens new fire station on Boggy Creek Road

Osceola County officials gathered this week to celebrate the grand opening of a new, strategically located fire station.

On Tuesday, June 27, county officials unveiled Austin-Tindall Station 67, which is located at 4150 Boggy Creek Road, near Austin Tindell Park in District 5.

County officials broke ground on the fire station in May 2022. The new station features four bays for vehicles, as well as 12,000 square feet of space. An expanded community room at the facility is open to the public and will be used as a polling location by the Osceola County Supervisor of Elections.

“By investing in the infrastructure for fire rescue and EMS, we are ensuring our citizens receive quicker and more efficient responses during emergencies,” said Osceola County Commissioner Ricky Booth, who represents District 5.

The state-of-the-art station improves the Insurance Services Office (ISO) rating for the immediate area from a 10 to a 3. ISO ratings reflect a community’s preparedness for fires and are used by insurance companies to determine premiums and coverages.

“Station 67, along with the other stations we have built and will build, marks a commitment to action to protect lives and property when our community calls,” said Osceola County Fire Chief Larry Collier. “Osceola County Fire Rescue continually strives to enhance the level of service it provides to the community. We are committed to the excellence in emergency response, fire prevention, and community education.”

In addition to Station 67, the county is currently in the midst of constructing another new fire station near Calypso Cay. Construction of that fire station should be completed by later this summer. Plans are also underway to build a replacement station in Poinciana and a new station on West 192 near Entry Point Boulevard, according to county officials.
