Third new parking lot opens at Orlando International Airport

With the addition of a third new parking lot, the Orlando International Airport is offering more than 2,000 additional parking spaces since last year’s holiday season.

Airport officials officially opened Surface Lot 1 on Friday, December 22. The additional lot joins Surface Lots 2 and 3, which opened earlier this month.

All three lots are accessible with E-Pass and SunPass Plus. SunPass customers must be enrolled with Easy Pay, and a transponder must be used to enter and exit the lots, according to the airport.

Surface Lot 1 now open at Orlando International Airport

With the addition, the airport now says it has more than 2,000 new spaces at the property compared to what it had last year.

The three lots are located near the new Brightline Train Station, which opened in April and began offering rides in September.

“Changes in travel patterns along with record airport traffic has facilitated a need for additional parking on airport property,” says Kevin Thibault, CEO, Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, upon the opening of the first two lots earlier this month. “It is our hope that these additional lots…will help ease some parking congestion during the upcoming Christmas holiday season.”

The new lots provide access to all terminals and the train station. The cost to park at the lots is $20 per day with the first ten minutes free.
