Smoke & Donuts opens new location near downtown Orlando

A barbecue and donut food truck purveyor has opened its first brick and mortar location in Orlando.

Smoke & Donuts, which established a strong Orlando following through online catering and delivery services, is now open for business at 615 Primrose Drive, in Orlando’s Milk District.

The restaurant hosted a soft opening in February and officially opened its doors during a grand opening celebration on Saturday, February 25.

After bids in catering, online delivery, a popup, a food truck, and a temporary home at Á La Cart, Smoke & Donuts owner Ian Russell scouted locations until he settled on the new establishment last year. Since then, crews have been busy at work remodeling the former home of Kernel Encore Gourmet Popcorn.

Although the restaurant will sport new digs, it will still feature the mainstays that brought it success with locals all throughout the city.

The menu at Smoke & Donuts is extensive and is filled with a bevy of creative concoctions like the Salty Englishman, which features a Maker’s Mark Bourbon and Maple glaze, Heath bar, and sea salt.

In addition to the in-house creations, the restaurant offers create-your-own donuts that come with a variety of toppings, including rainbow sprinkles, broken Oreos, Nutella, and even brisket burnt ends.

As its name suggests, barbecue is first and foremost, with pulled chicken, pulled pork, smoked sausage, sliced brisket, chopped brisket, and turkey breast options. Barbecue is featured in sandwich form or on a platter with two sides, cornbread, pickles and onions.

In addition to sweets and barbecue, Smoke & Donuts also features a full bar with liquor, wine, and beer.
