$10 adoptions as Seminole pet shelter undergoes ‘major’ renovation

The Seminole County Animal Services center is offering $10 adoptions in an effort to clear its facilities while it undergoes a major renovation.

Located at 232 Eslinger Way in Sanford, Seminole County Animal Services is currently undergoing renovations to its Adoption and Veterinarian care wing.

Last month, all adoptable dogs were moved over to the stray dog building for viewing and potential adoptions.

During the coming weeks, the non-profit group is hosting a “Clear the Shelter” event in an effort to find homes for some of its residents. Currently, the shelter is offering a special for $10 to adopt any animal that is six months of age or older.

There are close to 200 animals in residence at the shelter, with dozens connected to an ongoing animal cruelty investigation.

According to the group’s website, there are at least a couple dozen cats and dogs that are available for adoption as of Monday, February 27.

For more information on the shelter’s hours, services, or adoptions, visit the Seminole County Animal Services website.
