OCSO SWAT deputy, father of 3 diagnosed with serious brain injury

A GoFundMe has been established to help an Orange County Sheriff’s Office SWAT deputy who is in critical condition after he experienced a headache and found out he had a serious brain injury.

On Monday, March 20, deputy Michael Milmerstadt developed a severe headache after a training session at the gym. It was later determined that the headache was the result of a serious brain injury, according to OCSO.

Milmerstadt, who is the father of three young boys, has worked for OCSO for the past seven years. He is a member of the Community Oriented Policing Squad (COPS) and the agency’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team.

Milmerstadt is the sole breadwinner for his family and, as such, a GoFundMe has been established in his name to help his family with medical expenses.
