VIDEO: Unruly bonfire extinguished by Orlando bike officers

A group of Orlando bike officers were able to extinguish an unruly bonfire while patrolling a local neighborhood recently.

The Orlando Police Department Parramore Bike Unit was patrolling its beat on Saturday, May 6, when officers noticed a bonfire that had gotten out of control in the front yard of a home on S. Lee Avenue.

According to police, units would normally notify Orlando Fire Department crews of this type of incident. However, the flames of this particular bonfire began spreading quickly through the front yard of the home.

As police walked up to the fire, body camera worn video shows a resident attempting to use a t-shirt to put the fire out.

Officers stepped in and used their department-issued extinguishers to stop the fire from spreading.
