Joel Patrick Oswald

Joel Patrick Oswald was born in Holland, Michigan on August 30, 1981 and passed away on May 7, 2023 in Winter Garden, Florida after a long illness.

He was the son of Kevin and Marlene Oswald who survive him along with his very special sister Katie. Joel was a graduate of Grand Rapids Community College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and before his illness had worked at Orlando International Airport and Exploria Stadium in Orlando.

Joel loved traveling with his family and was grateful for trips out west to various national parks, visiting many caves, our nation’s capital and Florida. Joel had a great love of photography, particularly of things in nature and historical churches. Joel struggled with health issues from birth and fought a long and strong fight.

The family is comforted in knowing he is no longer suffering and is with his Lord and Savior. Per his wishes Joel will be cremated. Interment will take place with a private family service at Winter Garden Cemetery in Winter Garden, Florida.

Kevin and Marlene extend special thanks to their Church of the Lakes family in Orlando, Florida and Rev. Ferdi Brits and to every nurse and doctor at Orlando Health and AdventHealth of Orlando involved in Joel’s recent care. As a child Joel particularly benefited from CS Mott Children’s Hospital at the University of Michigan.
