David Carter Gallion

David Carter Gallion of Orlando, Florida passed away on May 15, 2023, at the age of 84. He was born on October 29, 1938, to Joe & Cecil Gallion in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. David was raised in Duncan, Oklahoma as the youngest of three and, after high school, attended Murray State College on a football scholarship. He went on to attend Central State University and earned a degree in accounting which helped him obtain a position at a CPA firm before working as a controller for Melvin Hatley Construction. He was a Sergeant First Class in the United States Army 45th Infantry Division and served as military police, completed active duty and returned to the National Guard to finish his remaining service before receiving an honorable discharge in 1968.

David was a successful business owner. In Oklahoma, he started David Gallion Construction Company, a business he maintained for 15 years before moving to Orlando in 1988. After relocating to Central Florida, he started a bathtub repair business, a profitable and active company he maintained for 34 years.

David joined First Baptist of Orlando in 1995 and throughout the last 28 years has served as a dedicated member and volunteer. He was an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan and enjoyed watching Sunday football games. David loved spending time with family, volunteering as an usher each Sunday, traveling with friends on church trips and participating in the Pressing on in Grace Life Group activities.

David is survived by his loving wife, Nu Le; son David Jr. and his wife Helen; stepdaughters Nhung Brandenburg and her husband Scott & Twis Lizasuain; and grandchildren Andrew, 21, Jenna, 18, Kaley, 16, Aaron, 16, Thomas, 12, Aiden, 11, Ava, 7 and Andrew, 21 months.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 8 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Henry Chapel at First Baptist Church of Orlando, 3000 S. John Young Parkway in Orlando followed by a reception in Faith Hall, 3rd Floor.
