Orlando Out of the Darkness suicide prevention walk

The Orlando Out of the Darkness Walk for suicide prevention will take place this weekend.

The Central Florida Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will host the 15th annual installment of the Orlando Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk on Saturday, February 5, at Baldwin Park (2420 Lakemont Avenue).

Registration for the event begins at 7:30 a.m. and the walk will take place between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Held in hundreds of cities across the country, the community walks represent the core of the Out of the Darkness movement, which began in 2004. The events are billed as opportunities for people to open up about their own connections to the cause, as well as platforms to create awareness surrounding mental health.

To register for this year’s walk, visit the Out of the Darkness 15th Annual Orlando Walk webpage.
