Rose Ogram

Rose Mary Ogram, age 92, passed away in Orlando on July 2, 2022.
Rose Mary was born on May 19, 1930 in Atlanta, and lived most of her life in Tallahassee and Orlando. Rose Mary never married and lived a very full life as a devoted daughter to her parents and as an educator. She graduated from the Florida State College for Women (now Florida State University) with a degree in mathematics, and earned her MA in Education from the University of Florida. She taught mathematics and served as chair of the Mathematics Department at Robert E. Lee Junior High School in Orlando, now known as College Park Middle School. After retiring from Lee Junior High School, Rose Mary taught math at a school in the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in Belgium for two years.

In addition to being a dedicated teacher, Rose Mary was an avid world traveler. She visited all continents, with the exception of Antarctica, and many countries on the remaining five. Rose Mary was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Orlando, where she sang in the Sunday school choir.

Rose Mary was preceded in death by her father and mother (Alfred and Annie Felton Ogram), and is survived by her sister, Shirley Dykes, brother, William Alfred Ogram (Margaret), and nephews and nieces Daryl and David Dykes, and Fred, Martha, and Margo Ogram.

Visitation will be at 2 pm on Saturday, July 9, followed by a memorial service at 3 pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Rd, Gotha, FL 34734.
