I-4 westbound in Seminole County closed as crews attend to multiple accidents

A series of accidents this morning and afternoon have tied up westbound I-4 in Seminole County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, as of noon on Wednesday, westbound I-4 at mile marker 101 is currently closed, with traffic being diverted onto State Road 46.

Authorities say that CPR was being performed on a 7-year-old passenger during one of the accidents.

“Drivers can expect westbound lanes to remain closed while this crash is being investigated,” reads a statement from FHP.

This morning, a separate accident spawned a series of additional accidents after a dump truck that was stopped in the outside lane near mile marker 99 was struck by a vehicle.

During that incident, the driver of the dump truck, a 39-year-old Orlando man, was arrested at the scene by the Lake Mary Police Department for a warrant unrelated to the crash.
