An Orlando man sustained critical injuries after his vehicle was involved in an accident on I-4 in Orange County.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, a 28-year-old man from Orlando was driving a 2012 Buick Lacrosse eastbound in the westbound lane of I-4 at around 3:22 a.m. on Monday.
A 2019 Ford pickup truck being driven by a 30-year-old man from Orlando was traveling westbound, in the newly opened express lanes on I-4.
The front of the Buick struck the front of the pickup truck in a head-on collision and both drivers had to be transported to Orlando Health. The 30-year-old man received minor injuries from the accident.
According to the report, FHP says “it remains under investigation as to how or when” the Buick began traveling in the opposite direction.
